TeleHealth/Virtual Therapy

Telehealth, or virtual therapy, is delivered through a live HIPAA-compliant video connection. It can provide the same treatment as if meeting each other in person.

• provides rural, distant, and metropolitan communities with access to specialized care
• eliminates travel time and additional expenses (i.e., parking, gas, transportation expenses, wear and tear of your car/bicycle)
• allows you to continue your treatment when work, family/children, or schedules get in the way of attending an in-person appointment

Since January 2019, most major health insurance carriers have offered virtual therapy as a treatment delivery method.  You must always check with your insurance company to ensure that these services are reimbursable under your specific plan and whether you need to sign up for a third-party party vendor to access these services.          

• Virtual therapy is accessible through your phone, tablet, or computer — any device with an internet connection. If you have ever used Skype or FaceTime on your smart device, you have used the same type of technology used with virtual therapy.
• Appointment times are the same length as your in-person sessions* and can quickly be scheduled and rescheduled with our online scheduler.
• You choose a quiet, private spot free of distraction, interruptions, and background noise and connect with your therapist via a secure online platform.

* Your insurance company may require you to use a third-party vendor, and sessions may be 45 minutes long. Please check with your insurance company for more details. 

• It is a convenient way to gain access to high-quality. Your appointment/ session takes place in a setting of your choosing. We encourage you to select a quiet space (i.e., your car, private conference room, or any room in your home) that is private and where you have access to a computer or mobile device and an internet connection.  
• It is an excellent option when faced with the possibility of missing an appointment because of your schedule, traveling, unexpected changes in your parenting schedule, being housebound, being away for extended periods, or due to bad weather.
• It is a way to access and include family members in your care and treatment planning when one or more participants are traveling or schedules and geographical distances do not allow everyone to simultaneously be in the same place.
• Our teletherapy platform protects your privacy — we provide a HIPAA-compliant platform for our services.
